Terms of Service

Last updated: November 6, 2026

The short version: your notes and uploads stay yours. Use Qikinote fairly and only upload content you're allowed to. AI can make mistakes, so check anything important. Pro subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel them in the App Store or Google Play.

1. About these terms

These terms are an agreement between you and Gaurav Tiwari (“Qikinote”, “we”, “us”) for using the Qikinote apps and website (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use Qikinote.

2. Who can use Qikinote

You must be at least 13 years old. If you are under 18 (or under the age of majority where you live), you need permission from a parent or guardian, who also agrees to these terms for you.

3. Your account

  • You sign in with Apple or Google. Keep that account secure: you're responsible for what happens in your Qikinote account.
  • One account is for one person. Don't share it or sell it.
  • Tell us at support@qikinote.app if you think someone else is using your account.

4. What Qikinote does

Qikinote turns recordings, audio files, PDFs and text into notes, summaries, transcripts and translations, and helps you study with flashcards, quizzes and the Ask Qiki chat. We keep improving the Service, so features may change, be added or be removed over time.

5. Your content

  • You own your content: the audio, PDFs and text you add, and the notes Qikinote creates for you from them.
  • You give us permission to store, process and send your content to our service providers (including AI providers) only to run the Service for you. This permission ends when you delete the content or your account.
  • You're responsible for having the right to use what you upload. In particular, get permission before recording a lecture, class, meeting or conversation when your school, workplace or local law requires it, and don't upload copyrighted material you aren't allowed to use.

6. AI-generated content

Notes, summaries, transcripts, translations, flashcards, quizzes and Ask Qiki answers are created by AI. They can be incomplete or wrong. Check important information against your original material. Don't rely on Qikinote for medical, legal, financial or other professional advice. Qikinote is a study aid; it doesn't replace your own study or your teachers.

7. Acceptable use

When you use Qikinote, you agree not to:

  • upload content that is illegal, harmful, hateful, sexually explicit, or that violates someone else's privacy or rights,
  • record people secretly where the law doesn't allow it,
  • use Qikinote to cheat where that breaks your school's or exam's rules,
  • try to hack, overload, scrape or reverse engineer the Service, or get around its limits,
  • use automated tools or bots to access the Service, or resell it, or
  • use the Service to build a competing product.

We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules.

8. Qikinote Pro subscriptions

  • Creating notes and some other features require a Qikinote Pro subscription. The plans and prices are shown in the app before you buy, in your local currency.
  • You buy Pro through the Apple App Store or Google Play. They charge your account when you confirm the purchase, and their terms also apply.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period (weekly, monthly or yearly) at the same price, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends.
  • To cancel, open your App Store subscriptions (iPhone: Settings › your name › Subscriptions) or Google Play subscriptions (Play Store › profile › Payments & subscriptions). Pro stays active until the end of the period you've paid for. Deleting the app or your Qikinote account does not cancel a subscription.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their refund policies. We can't issue refunds for purchases made through them.
  • If we change prices, Apple or Google will tell you beforehand, and you can cancel before the new price applies.

9. Our rights

Qikinote, its app, design, Qiki mascot, name and logo belong to us. These terms give you a personal, non-transferable right to use the Service; they don't give you any ownership of it.

10. Ending your use

  • You can stop using Qikinote at any time and delete your account in the app (Profile › Delete account). This permanently deletes your data, as described in our Privacy Policy.
  • We may suspend or close your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, or if the law requires it. Where reasonable, we'll tell you first.
  • If we ever shut down Qikinote, we'll give you reasonable notice so you can copy your notes.

11. Disclaimers

We work hard to keep Qikinote reliable, but the Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. We don't promise it will always be available, error-free, or that AI output will be accurate. Keep your own copy of anything important. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection law that can't be excluded.

12. Limit of liability

To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses (such as lost data, grades, profits or opportunities) arising from your use of Qikinote. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for Qikinote in the 12 months before the claim.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as Qikinote changes. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change is significant, we'll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. If you keep using Qikinote after that, you accept the new terms.

14. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Please contact us first so we can try to solve any problem informally. If we can't, the courts of Delhi, India have jurisdiction, unless the consumer law of your country gives you the right to bring a claim where you live.

15. Apple-specific terms

If you downloaded Qikinote from the Apple App Store: these terms are between you and us, not Apple, and Apple is not responsible for Qikinote or its support. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and can enforce them. Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies where these terms don't cover something.
